Is wisemonie a bank?

No. wisemonie is not a bank and does not hold deposits. Your money is held with Rubies Microfinance Bank, our licensed banking partner regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria. wisemonie provides the envelope structure, spending rules, and release schedule on top of that banking layer.

Will wisemonie lock my money?

Only if you ask it to. wisemonie has two types of envelopes: scheduled (opens on a day and time you choose) and hard-locked (sealed until a date you set, like rent due on the 30th). You decide which envelopes lock and which release. wisemonie just enforces your plan.

Can I change my plan?

Accepted Answer

Yes, anytime. When life changes — new job, new commitment, new priority — update your envelopes and the new plan takes over. Hard-locked envelopes have their own unlock rules, but everything else is editable.

What happens if an envelope is empty?

It tells you. You can wait for the next scheduled release, move money from a flex envelope, or override manually in an emergency. Wisemonie doesn't block you against your will. It makes sure you know which part of your plan you're spending from.

Anyone whose financial plan and spending don't stay aligned: salary earners, freelancers, students, business owners, couples. If you have multiple commitments and limited income, wisemonie keeps your plan and your spending in sync.

Small transfer fees apply (similar to what your bank charges, ₦13 for transfers under ₦5,000). Core envelope features are free. Optional premium features are available on opt-in subscription. All fees are shown clearly before any transaction.
